Universal Declaration of Ocean Rights (UDOR)

The initiative towards a Universal Declaration of Ocean Rights was launched in March 2022 in Genoa, Italy, by The Ocean Race, Earth Law Center, Nature’s Rights and the municipality of Genoa. The UDOR initiative aims to achieve an ethical norm for global Ocean governance by 2030. As a product of the UDOR initiative, ‘We are the Ocean and the Ocean is Us’ was developed with the input of 150+ stakeholders as a living document to establish a robust foundation for socialising a UDOR. The UDOR is currently in a re-strategising phase, contact [email protected] to learn more.
